Rome sweet home

Yesterday I got back to a surprisingly sunny, warm and cheerful England. I spent 10 days at home, they were supposed to be dedicated to "studying for the exams" but um, I did pretty much anything but that. We drove to Calabria where I spent my first day in 2012 at the beach and devoured my grandma's amazing fusilli.
In Rome I went out and about as usual, I sort of raided H&M and Zara because shopping for summer clothes is simply euphoric for me. Being able to walk around in dresses and sandals with ice cream cones and a terrific sunshine felt so much like summer, finally!

I also went to a super exciting event - a reception party Chopard hosted in Chopard's gorgeous ancient store in Central Rome (!!!) in the occasion of the Mille Miglia party. The party then moved in front of Castel Sant'Angelo to see a parade of the vintage cars. There was champagne and VIPs and freakishly expensive jewelry until 2 in the morning. We had to be super dressed up and it was fun! We then went and got a steak and hot nutella-filled croissants at about 2.30 am, as you do... aha!

The day I discovered my camera recognises me and tags me in my own photos
and also reminds me of how old I am

I am off to Coventry to see Coldplay after tomorrow and I am super thrilled!

What would you like to see next? (ex. my summer in Ischia, any concert I've been to, Frequency music festival, Madrid, my 4 years in Morocco, more of what I did in Vienna..) Let me know in the comments.

Camilla the concert junkie

This week, Zoe requested to see some photos from my concert experiences.

Let me begin by saying, since I was 12 years old I have been the biggest concert junkie. There's nothing like going to a concert. By now I've been to so many I literally lost count.

Let's see, I have seen Kings Of Leon, 30 Seconds To Mars, My Chemical Romance, MGMT, Muse, Panic At The Disco, Klaxons, Green Day, Two Door Cinema Club, Metronomy, Fall Out Boy twice, The All-American Rejects, Sum 41, All Time Low, LCD Soundsystem, The Horrors, Hot Chip, Mumford & Sons, Billy Talent, NoFX, White Lies, Shout Out Louds, The Sounds twice, The Drums, Marina & The Diamonds, La Roux, Tribes, Kill Hannah, My Passion twice, Deadmau5, Matt&Kim, Massive Attack, Blue and actually many more!

I've also had the chance to meet some of them, I met Frank Iero from MCR, partied with MGMT, got to hang out backstage and on the tour bus with the Klaxons, Panic! At The Disco, The Horrors, Hot Chip, All Time Low, My Passion, Matt&Kim, Kill Hannah and more...

BUT, one of the best moments of my life happened during Frequency festival in august 2010, where I got to go on stage and sing with Jared Leto of 30 Seconds To Mars. I've worshipped Jared Leto since I was 12. He is the man, man. He's also the sexiest man on the planet, but, you know, details...
So when he yelled "SO WHO WANTS TO GET ON STAGE WITH 30STM???" I absolutely lost it and crowdsurfed my way to the stage. I got to sing one of my favorite songs with Jared Leto in front of about 20 thousand people. It was probably the most exciting thing that's happened to me.

Anyway, I will do a separate post about the 2010 Frequency festival, because so many epic things happened and I have so many super cool shots from what was one of the funnest weekends of my life.

Also, I'm finally seeing Coldplay in 19 days! For now, enjoy some of these :)

Some of my street style

So this week Yasmin requested to see some of my street style photos, and here they are!

Early in February I got a job at Beyond Retro as a streetstyle photographer. Basically, I go out and take photos of stylish people out and about and, instead of getting paid with money, they give me a free outfit each week! Who cares about money, free clothes, that's cool with me!

I also took some during my travels around the world. Here are some of my faves.

Reminiscing about Vienna

Thank you Lydia for requesting a post about Vienna!

As you may already know, I've lived in Vienna from 2007 to 2011 and I have such a soft spot for it. In 2011 it was voted the best city to live in, and I have to agree that living there (despite the cold!) was so glamorous and fun, especially since when I first moved there I was coming from four years in Morocco, such a massive change.

Walking around Vienna you feel like you're walking around in a fable, or actually, in a museum. Everything is spotless-looking and the buildings everywhere are just so fantastic. Another thing I loved is that it's famous for its traditional Viennese cafés, which offer incredible coffees and a crazy selection of cakes and where you can sit and just chill for hours on end and where you might just learn Freud used to sit at the table next to yours.

At the same time though it's so young and dynamic, there was always something going on, a new restaurant or brunch café opening, a cool exhibition at the ultra-hip Museumsquartier, a concert to attend, a bunch of rides to venture on at the Prater amusement park, some sort of festival, open markets and little hipster-ish stores to explore.

I'm just realizing now that while I lived there I took it completely for granted; I lived in a gorgeous house from the 1800s which I miss terribly, and Vienna was so beautiful and so super cool and right now I miss it so so much, I still feel like it's home and I haven't been there since last summer. However I just found out two days ago that I'm going back from May 24th to 27th! So excited!

I took these shots during my last week in Vienna, in July 2011.

These next few photos are kind of a compilation of 2007-2011.

Shout out to Yasmin who requested to see some of my street style photos. You shall see those next!

What would you like to see after that? Here's some suggestions: my summer in Ischia, any concert I've been to, Frequency music festival, Madrid, my 4 years in Morocco, more of what I did in Vienna.. let me know in the comments.
